Mobile phone picture contest to be held in Iranian capital

A photo contest using pictures taken from mobile phones has been scheduled to take place at an event in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The mobile phone photo contest titled ‘Aperture for Goodness’ is being organized by the Eshraq Cultural Center in south Tehran.

The event is aimed at promoting peace, tolerance, empathy and compassion in society.

Anyone can participate in the event by sending a maximum of five photos to preshragh@gmail.com, but the pictures will be considered only if taken by a mobile phone.

To be eligible, participants should use their cell phones to take pictures “on subjects they regard relevant,” Iran’s Art and Culture Organization website wrote.

The deadline for submission of entries is June 20. The top three winners will receive prizes and commendation plaques.
